Meet Dr. Brower!

Written By Concord Chiropractic Clinic on September 9, 2024

Good afternoon everyone!

It was an exciting weekend between the Tennessee Valley Fair coming to the area and the Vols beating NC State in Charlotte and we hope you have a great start to your week!

Dr. Petty and Concord Chiropractic Clinic have been here for 38 years and many people are familiar with the office or with Dr. Petty.  We wanted to take some time today to introduce Dr. Brower and interview him so people can get to know him better.  We will have another post on our blog on Monday, talking more about the examination and adjusting techniques in the office so don't forget to check that out! Otherwise, here are some questions and answers with Dr. Brower:

Q: Introduce yourself and tell everyone a little bit about you.

A: My name is Michael Brower.  I'm 31 years old and I moved to Tennessee in November of 2022 and moved to Strawberry Plains in October of 2023.  I am married to my wife Morgan, who is a voice instructor for private lessons and at Walter State Community College.  We have one son named Ellis who is 2 1/2 years old.

Q: How long have you been a chiropractor for and where have you practiced?

A: I have been practicing for 6 years and I have practiced in Virginia, Maryland, and now here in Tennessee.

Q: What made you decide to become a chiropractor?

A: In high school and college I was a competitve swimmer who swam mostly butterfly.  I had issues with both shoulders from junior year in high school all the way through college.  I finally decided that enough was enough and I had to do something about the pain in both of my shoulders.  I went to my primary care physician and to a physical therapist with very limited to no changes after seeing them.  Through the advice of my Mom I saw the chiropractor she was going to.  To my amazement I had more pain relief from the adjustments than I had seeing any other doctor.  I decided that I wanted to shadow the chiropractor that helped me out for a summer before going back to college. After working at his office for a summer I knew I wanted to become a chiropractor and the rest is history!

Q: Dr. Petty gets to work with a lot of collegiate and professional athletes.  Do you have any experience with sports chiropractic?

A: At the first office I was at my boss used to be the chiropractor for the Washington Redskins (Commanders). I was able to see some former professional football players through that connection.  In Maryland, I helped out a lot of high school athletes and had some experience with professional Ironmen racers and former competitive bicyclers.  At the office here I am able to help out at the University of Tennessee when Dr. Petty is out of the office.  I have also helped out with the Olympic Diving Trials here in Knoxville and there are a handful of other professional athletes that are treated by me.

Q: Do you and Dr. Petty adjust the same way?

A: For the most part yes, we both incorporate a lot of muscle testing and extremity adjusting when taking care of patients.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: My family and I want to stay in the area so I will continue to build up my patient base in the Farragut area.  I'd like to get more involved with local high school athletic teams and continue to get my name out to more people with advertisements.

Thank you for taking the time to read this short interview with Dr. Brower.  He is excited to be in the area and to help as many patients as possible.  If you want to schedule an appointment with him please call the office at (865)-675-5050!

Look out for our next post on Monday!

Yours in Health,
